There are not many organisations out there that are not feeling the effects of the current global pandemic situation. This is a very difficult situation for employees but also business leaders as there are a lot of tough decisions that have to be made.

My comments to this are that even when times are hard everyone needs to try and look at the positives as much as possible, out of a crisis sometimes comes new opportunities.

Business leaders must make the right choices for the sustainability of the organisation. If that means that some people must leave to protect the future for the business and those left then this has to happen, businesses need to make money to survive. This is terrible for those effected but please don't under estimate the effect this has on those leaders that have to make these tough choices.

This is a time for business improvements to take place, this will allow an organisation to be in a better position to sustain, when the world gets back to whatever the new normal will look like.

As in any battle we have two choices, lie down and hope it passes you or hit it head on and fight. I always go with the latter and my advice to anyone or any organisation out there is to take this approach. Stay positive, look forward and plan for future success! That may be in your current organisation or the future may hold something new for you but having a positive outlook will give you a better chance of moving forward in the direction you want to. If you lie down and bury your head, I'm sorry but you will fail!!
